Chocolate Cake
Everone should have this recipe by now as it has circulated throughout the world for years!! So easy and so moist!
Ingredients
| 1 | stick | margarine
| | 1 | cup | water
| | 1/4 | cup | cocoa
| | 1/2 | cup | oil
| | 2 | cups | sugar
| | 2 | cups | flour
| | 1/2 | teasp. | salt
| | 1 | teasp. | soda
| | 1 | teasp. | vanilla
| | 1/2 | cup | buttermilk
| | 2 | | eggs |
In saucepan, bring to boil the margarine, water, cocoa and oil. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, flour, salt, soda and vanilla. Pour the boiled mixture over the dry ingredients in the bowl. Mix well. Add the buttermilk and eggs. Bake 350 degrees approximately 30 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. 13x9 inch pan.
To prepare the frosting: bring to a boil, 1/4 cup cocoa, 1 stick margarine. Remove from stove and add 1/3 cup buttermilk , 1/2 teasp. vanilla and 1 box powdered sugar. Mix all well and frost the cooled cake.
