Chinese Pepper Steak
Ingredients
| 1 | 1/2 | pounds sirloin or top round steak
| | 1/4 | cup | vegetable oil
| | 1 | clove | crushed garlic
| | 1 | teasp. | ground ginger
| | 1/2 | teasp. | pepper
| | 3 | large | green peppers, sliced
| | 1/4 | cup | cold water
| | 2 | large | onions,sliced
| | 1/4 | cup | soy sauce
| | 1/2 | cup | beef boullion
| | 1 | can | water chestnuts
| | 1 | Tablesp. | cornstarch. |
Cut meat in thin strips. Heat oil in skillet. Add garlic, salt, ginger and pepper. Saute until is golden. Add steak, brown, and remove from pan. Add green pepper, onions, and water chestnuts and cook 3 minutes. Return meat to pan - add rest of ingredients (cornstarch dissolved in cold water).
If you do not have water chestnuts, you may use 1 can bamboo shoots or 1 cup chopped celery.
